Anatomical and functional mapping of vagal nociceptive sensory nerve subsets innervating the mouse lower airways by intersectional genetics

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend We used an intersectional approach with recombinase‐expressing mice and adeno‐associated virus to map and modulate distinct nociceptive afferents in the vagal ganglia. TRPV1+P2X2+ neurons resided in the nodose ganglion (N), innervated the lungs (many projected into the alveoli) but not the trachea, and projected to the nucleus ...

Hepato‐Renal Protective Potential of Dimethyl Fumarate in Alloxan‐Induced Diabetic Mice Model by Modulating of Sirt1, Nrf2 and Inflammatory Genes Expressions

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 2, March 2026.
Hepato‐renal protective potential of DMF in alloxan‐induced diabetic mice model. ABSTRACT Aim Despite advances in diabetes treatments, the effects of this disease have not yet been adequately reversed or prevented in patients. Therefore, development of more effective medication‐assisted treatments in this field is needed.

Sialylation patterns in cerebral amyloid angiopathy

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
This study is the first to localize and evaluate sialylation modifications in the context of Alzheimer's Disease and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, revealing a unique disease‐specific increase in intravascular sialylation. Abstract Glycosylation is the most common form of post‐translational modification in the brain and becomes significantly altered in ...

Along the Silenced Footsteps of Latin American Pastoralists: From Mexico to Argentina, a Journey Through Pastoral Systems in Latin America

open access: yesThe Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology, Volume 31, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Pastoralism worldwide faces a complex landscape of increased pressures and exclusion. Beyond ecological and economic challenges, pastoralists suffer eroding cultural identity, limited generational renewal, and political marginalization. Yet pastoral livelihoods are increasingly recognized as stewards of sustainable futures and amongst the best

Malignant Otitis Externa Presenting With Nasopharyngeal Hematoma: A Case Report of an Unusual Complication

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Malignant otitis externa (MOE) is a potentially life‐threatening infection of the external auditory canal (EAC), often with skull base extension. Vascular complications are exceptionally rare, with only six reports of petrous internal carotid artery (ICA) pseudoaneurysm following MOE.

Cleavage and Polyadenylation Specificity Factor Subunit 5 Regulates Pulmonary Artery Smooth Muscle Expansion and Hypoxic Response

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Increased miR‐3163 targets NUDT21, reducing CPSF5 levels and driving APA dysregulation. This results in 3′UTR shortening of CBFB, which stabilizes RUNX1 and promotes smooth muscle proliferation. PTGER3, is also shortened amplifying hypoxia‐induced RVSP. Together, these pathways contribute to vascular remodeling in PH. Image Created in https://BioRender.
