[Pathway for macrophage invasion into the tunica media and the intima in vein graft].
Zhong nan da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Central South University. Medical sciences, 2006To test whether the macrophages in vein grafts may invade into the vascular wall from the adventitia apart from the lumen.Expression of CD68 (a marker of macrophage) and CD31 (a marker of endothelial cells) in 30 vein grafts were detected by confocal immunofluroscence. Images were processed with Silicon Graphics Octane. In normal veins, there were a few

Strongylus vulgaris in the tunica media of arteries of ponies and treatment with ivermectin.
Canadian journal of veterinary research = Revue canadienne de recherche veterinaire, 1987A preliminary investigation was made into the effect of fourth-stage Strongylus vulgaris larvae sequestered in the tunica media of ileocolic arteries of pony foals treated with ivermectin. The foals had been reared parasite-free, inoculated with infective larvae and given orally a placebo or ivermectin paste.

[Distribution and orientation of the collagen fibers in the tunica media of muscular arteries].
Bollettino della Societa italiana di biologia sperimentale, 1980X-ray diffraction tecniques were used to study the distribution and orientation of collagen fibers in media layer of human muscular arteries as a function of mechanical deformation. The close relationship between collagen fibers and smooth cells orientation was shown by X-ray diffraction and histological analyses.
