Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Symmetrically arranged quartz tuning fork with soft cantilever for intermittent contact mode atomic force microscopy

open access: yes
The dynamic mode atomic force microscopy based on a microfabricated cantilever and a commercial quartz tuning fork was probed. The probe was self-sensing and self-actuating. The tuning fork performed the function of a force sensor.

Demo 10-03 Tuning Forks

open access: yes, 2001
Three tuning forks of frequencies 256, 512, and 1024 Hz (at octave frequency intervals) are sounded and their waves displayed on an oscilloscope. The wave produced by a tuning fork is sinusoidal, as can be heard on the video and illustrated in Figure ...
