Tuning fork shear-force feedback [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Investigations have been performed on the dynamics of a distance regulation system based on an oscillating probe at resonance. This was examined at a tuning fork shear-force feedback system, which is used as a distance control mechanism in near-field ...

A three million Q factor tuning fork resonator based on a vibration isolation structure

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
The quality factor (Q factor) is one of the most important parameters for a resonant sensor since it determines the performance of the resonant system. The mass distribution imbalance caused by the fabrication error has a great impact on the anchor loss,

Protein microarray-based profiling of salivary IgA antibodies against human proteins in COVID-19 patients with depressive symptoms

open access: yesScientific Reports
To understand the pathophysiology and etiology of COVID-19 patients with depressive symptoms, we investigated the presence of autoantibodies associated with neurological sequelae using salivary IgA antibody profiling in COVID-19 patients with depressive ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Vibration Sensitivity Reduction of Micromachined Tuning Fork Gyroscopes through Stiffness Match Method with Negative Electrostatic Spring Effect

open access: yesSensors, 2016
In this paper, a stiffness match method is proposed to reduce the vibration sensitivity of micromachined tuning fork gyroscopes. Taking advantage of the coordinate transformation method, a theoretical model is established to analyze the anti-phase ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

The Analysis of the Tuning Fork [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1882
WITH reference to the letter of Mr. Stanley in NATURE, vol. xxvi. p. 243, I notice the following sentence:—“If we may apply this principle to stringed instruments, we must look rather to the bridge than the transverse motion of the string, as the communicator of the sonorous vibrations which produces the note.” I thought that this was an admitted fact.

The Model Analysis of a Complex Tuning Fork Probe and Its Application in Bimodal Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
A new electromechanical coupling model was built to quantitatively analyze the tuning fork probes, especially the complex ones. A special feature of a novel, soft tuning fork probe, that the second eigenfrequency of the probe was insensitive to the ...
