Electromagnetic Signatures of Possible Charge Anomalies in Tunneling
We reconsider some well-known tunneling processes from the point of view of Aharonov-Bohm electrodynamics, a unique extension of Maxwell’s theory which admits charge-current sources that are not locally conserved.

We present a quantitative study of the current–voltage characteristics (CVC) of SFIFS Josephson junctions (S = bulk superconductor, F = metallic ferromagnet, I = insulating barrier) with weak ferromagnetic interlayers in the diffusive limit.

Scattering theory of superconductive tunneling in quantum junctions
We present a consistent theory of superconductive tunneling in single-mode junctions within a scattering formulation of Bogoliubov-de Gennes quantum mechanics.

Resistively-shunted superconducting quantum point contacts
We have studied the Josephson dynamics of resistively-shunted ballistic superconducting quantum point contacts at finite temperatures and arbitrary number of conducting modes.

Controlling Josephson transport by manipulation of Andreev levels in ballistic mesoscopic junctions
We discuss how to control dc Josephson current by influencing the structure and nonequilibrium population of Andreev levels via external electrostatic gates, external current injection and electromagnetic radiation.

Josephson Flux Flow Oscillator: the Microscopic Tunneling Approach [PDF]
We elaborate a theoretical description of large Josephson junctions which is based on the Werthamer's microscopic tunneling theory. The model naturally incorporates coupling of electromagnetic radiation to the tunnel currents and, therefore, is ...

Sub-micrometer epitaxial Josephson junctions for quantum circuits
We present a fabrication scheme and testing results for epitaxial sub-micrometer Josephson junctions. The junctions are made using a high-temperature (1170 K) "via process" yielding junctions as small as 0.8 mu m in diameter by use of optical lithography.

Using the Usadel approach, we provide a formalism that allows us to calculate the critical current density of 21 different types of Josephson junctions (JJs) with a ferromagnetic (F) barrier and additional insulating (I) or/and normal (N) layers inserted

Proximity-Induced π Josephson Junctions in Topological Insulators and Kramers Pairs of Majorana Fermions. [PDF]
We study two microscopic models of topological insulators in contact with an s-wave superconductor. In the first model the superconductor and the topological insulator are tunnel coupled via a layer of randomly distributed scalar and of randomly oriented

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...
