Ultrafast Laser Synthesis of Zeolites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents a novel ultrafast laser‐driven synthesis technique for zeolites directly in liquid. Laser pulses create a microscopic reactor that controls reaction kinetics at femto‐ and picosecond timescales. Nonlinear light‐matter interactions drive nucleation and growth, allowing the process to be paused at any stage of self‐assembly.

Upconversion Nanoparticle‐Covalent Organic Framework Core–shell Particles as Therapeutic Microrobots Trackable With Optoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Upconversion nanoparticle‐covalent organic framework core–shell particles provide enhanced contrast for optoacoustic imaging by leveraging the optical absorption of upconversion luminescence within the covalent organic framework matrix. Beyond their role as contrast agents, these particles enable customizable therapeutic agent loading and release, as ...

Association Between Estuary Characteristics and Activities of the Critically Endangered Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin (Sousa chinensis)

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2021
The Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin (Sousa chinensis) has been reported to prefer estuary habitats. This study explored the environmental factors affecting a critically endangered population off the coast of Yunlin, Taiwan.

Unlocking Multimodal Nonlinear Microscopy for Deep‐Tissue Imaging under Continuous‐Wave Excitation with Tunable Upconverting Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a multimodal nonlinear microscopy approach using upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) under continuous‐wave excitation. The UCNPs exhibit high‐order nonlinear optical responses, enabling deep‐tissue 3D imaging, video‐rate wide‐field imaging, and depth‐selective photomodulation.

Preliminary results on tartaric stabilization of red wine by adding different carboxymethylcelluloses [PDF]

open access: yesCiência e Técnica Vitivinícola, 2018
Despite being natural phenomena of physical-chemical stabilization of young wines, tartrate precipitations in bottled wines are often understood as a quality fault.

Estimating of optimal dose of PACL for turbidity removing from water [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Removing suspended solids and colloids are one of the most important water treatment processes. In this research, experimental tests have been done to assess the effects of pH and different doses of PACL on turbidity removal efficiency. The optimum dose of poly aluminum chloride (PACL) for removing turbidity was also determined.

Diffusion of light in turbid media and Kubelka-Munk theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We show that the Kubelka-Munk equations for the description of the intensity transfer of light in turbid media are equivalent to a one-dimensional diffusion equation, which is obtained by averaging the three-dimensional diffusion equation over the lateral directions.

Removal of Natural Organic Matter Fractions by Kaolin/Fly Ash Ceramic Microfiltration Membrane in Drinking Water: Insights from a Laboratory Scale Application

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The prepared ceramic membrane exhibited 28.84 µm average pore size and hydrophilic properties (≈27.4° contact angle). FTIR shows the presence of aluminol, siloxane, and hydroxyl groups and XRD confirms the presence of quartz and kaolinite phases. Separation of natural organic matter from drinking water is achieved by microfiltration at 0.25 bar and is ...

Influence of road salt on the biological removal of nitrogen [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2007
Processes occuring in the aeration tank remove nitrogen from the organic substances in wastewater by using the bacterii. Nitrification utilize the metabolism of aerobic bacterii Nitrosomonas, Nitrococus, Nitrospira, Nitrobacter Nitrocystis a Nitrosobolus.
