Design and Optimization of a Novel Kalina‐Organic Rankine Cycle System Based on LNG Cold Energy Utilization

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel integrated system (SDKC‐DORC) that combines a split‐flow dual‐pressure Kalina cycle with a secondary organic Rankine cycle for the synergistic utilization of solar energy and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cold energy.

First‐Principles Investigation of the Thermoelectric Behavior of the Orthorhombic Cadmium Stannate (Cd2SnO4)

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Cd2SnO4 exhibits excellent thermoelectric properties with a high Seebeck coefficient, power factor, and figure of merit, surpassing Bi2Te3. It shows both positive and negative Seebeck coefficient values, making it suitable for diverse applications. Its high electrical conductivity and low thermal conductivity enhance efficiency, while its negative Hall

Oxytocin and vasopressin expression in the turbinates of patients with chronic sinusitis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Many peptides are present in the nasal mucosa, but few studies have investigated the presence or absence of the oxytocin and vasopressin peptides. This immunohistochemical study on the inferior turbinates of patients affected by chronic sinusitis shows ...

Disparity of turbinal bones in placental mammals

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Turbinals are key bony elements of the mammalian nasal cavity, involved in heat and moisture conservation as well as olfaction. While turbinals are well known in some groups, their diversity is poorly understood at the scale of placental mammals, which span 21 orders.

But how does it smell? An investigation of olfactory bulb size among living and fossil primates and other euarchontoglirans

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Analysis of cranial endocast data of 181 extant and 41 fossil species from Euarchontoglires shows that there was a reduction in olfactory bulb size in Crown Primates, but that there were also subsequent reductions in various other primate clades (Anthropoidea, Catarrhini, Platyrrhini, crown Cercopithecoidea, Hominoidea).
