Normally, there are three pairs of nasal turbinates in the nasal cavity. Coronal computed tomographies of 253 cases of sinusitis were examined for the presence of additional turbinates and bilateral secondary middle turbinates were detected in two cases.

Bifid inferior nasal turbinates-two inferior turbinates with a single root observed in the nasal cavity-are an extremely rare anatomical variation, especially when they are observed bilaterally and exist with other variations.
