Hydraulic efficiency of a Rushton turbine impeller
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017Based on CFD simulations hydraulic efficiency of a standard Rushton turbine impeller in a baffled tank was determined at a Reynolds number of ReM=33330. Instantaneous values of pressure and velocity components were used to draw up the macroscopic balance of the mechanical energy.

The Dynamic Balancing of Turbines and Impellers
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1950DYNAMIC balancing has become an important function in the production and repair of gas turbines used in aircraft. It is now general practice to dynamic balance every turbine wheel and impeller assembly before fitting to the engine. Maintenance engineers, while having a background in the theory of vibrations caused by unbalance, must now know the ...

Efficiency of gas axial small turbine impellers

Hydrodynamic characteristics of flow in systems with turbine impellers
Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1983The study deals with a phenomenological description of a flow leaving the blades of different types of turbine impellers, which are always placed in a cylindrical vessel with radial baffles under turbulent regime of liquid flow. The flow description is determined by three basic characteristics of the proposed model: i.e.

Fracture of a Turbine Impeller Shaft
1992Abstract An ASTM A193-83a grade B7 (AISI 4140) steel turbine impeller shaft fractured after 2 months of service. Failure had initiated at three separate points around the periphery of the shaft, each associated with one of three keyways.

Calculation of Static Strength of Steam Turbine Impeller
ASME 2005 Power Conference, 2005Stress analysis of impeller is an important link in the structure design of the steam turbine and has important meaning to maintenances, monitoring, safety and life-span manage and assess of rotor of steam turbine. According to fundamental equations of stress and deformation of stream turbine impeller, this method combines the boundary value computing ...

Analysis of Turbine Impeller Vibration Test Equipment
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013The mode of the impeller of steam turbines vibration frequency is recorded by simulated experiment of the impellers vibration in the exciting method. And the main negative effects for the impeller of steam turbines vibration are analyzed through the simulated experiment, so the impellers vibration can be avoided through modulating the targeted elements.

Design and simulation of turbine impeller in hydrovalve
SPIE Proceedings, 2008The water level in refrigerator must be controlled accurately in order to adjust the refrigerator's temperature, namely, a flow sensor needs to be designed to precisely measure the water flow into the flume according to the structure of hydrovalve. So the mechanical model of the turbine impeller's vane was first done through the analysis of the vane ...

Turbulence properties of the impeller stream of a Rushton turbine
AIChE Journal, 1998AbstractThe structure of the flow in a vessel stirred by a Rushton turbine was investigated using laser Doppler anemometry measurement techniques. The time and length scales of turbulence were determined and used to estimate the dissipation rate of turbulence energy. The levels of turbulence energy and dissipation are high near the turbine and decrease

Gassed power dynamics of disc turbine impeller
Chemical Engineering Science, 1983Abstract Measurements have been made of the dynamic power response of a disc turbine impeller, following sudden changes in the input gas flowrate. Transient and frequency response results are presented for a number of impeller speeds. A very satisfactory representation of the smoothed-transient response is obtained using a simple linear first order ...
