Exploring the Influence of Wind Turbine\u27s Blades on Its Output and Efficiency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Wind turbines are machines that convert wind energy into electricity. The efficiency of this conversion is measured by comparing the incoming wind\u27s speed and the output power.

Harnessing Digital Microstructure for Simulation‐Guided Optimization of Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
An experimental‐to‐computational workflow is presented that transforms experimental 3D focused ion beam‐scanning electron microscopy data into a simulation‐ready digital microstructure for multiphase functional materials. Using heavy‐rare‐earth‐free Nd–Fe–B magnets as a model system, the approach quantifies grain connectivity across complex secondary ...

Investigating the Operational Limits of a Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine Gearbox Through Unsupervised Comparison Between Units of the Same Equipment from Three Nearby Power Plants

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Considering the operating limits proposed by ISO 10816-21 – Evaluation of Machine Vibration by Measurements on Non-Rotating Parts – for horizontal-axis wind turbine gearboxes, we analyzed the behavior of nearly one hundred gearboxes from three nearby ...

An overview of wind turbine manufacturing experience in Turkey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
While wind energy has been utilized by windmills for ages, 1970s oil crises was a turning point for many developed governments to initiate massive efforts to develop modern wind turbines. Starting from almost none in early 1980s, the installed wind power

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Intelligent Operator‐Independent Flexibility in Robotic Non‐Destructive Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Non‐destructive evaluation of high‐value components remains a manufacturing bottleneck due to rigid robotic calibration and fixturing. This study presents a flexible, adaptable system integrating 3D vision and force‐position control with a collaborative KUKA LBR robot. The geometry‐agnostic system enables pose‐independent ultrasonic inspection, detects

NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE SECONDARY FLOW DEVELOPMENT IN TURBINE CASCADE

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2001
The results represent the first attempt of the numerical analysis of 3-D secondary flows formed in the linear turbine cascade wind tunnel. Numerical simulations were carried out by means of the SPRC code [1].
