Turbo-Detected Unequal Protection MPEG-4 Audio Transceiver Using Convolutional Codes, Trellis Coded Modulation and Space-Time Trellis Coding [PDF]
A jointly optimised turbo transceiver capable of providing unequal error protection is proposed for employment in an MPEG-4 aided audio transceiver. The transceiver advocated consists of Space-Time Trellis Coding (STTC), Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM ...

Optimizing of Iterative Turbo Equalizer for Underwater Sensor Communication
We presented an iterative turbo equalization to cope with intersymbol interference induced by reflection of sea level and sea bottom for underwater sensor communication channel. Iterative turbo equalizer consists of inner codes and outer codes; we employ

Multiple-relay aided distributed turbo coding assisted differential unitary space-time spreading for asynchronous cooperative networks [PDF]
This paper proposes a cooperative space-time coding (STC) protocol, amalgamating the concepts of asynchronous cooperation, non-coherent detection as well as Distributed Turbo Coding (DTC), where neither symbol-level time synchronization nor CSI ...

System Performance of Concatenated STBC and Block Turbo Codes in Dispersive Fading Channels
A new scheme of concatenating the block turbo code (BTC) with the space-time block code (STBC) for an OFDM system in dispersive fading channels is investigated in this paper.

Reduced-Complexity I/Q Turbo Detector for Convolutional-Coding Assisted Space-Time Trellis Coding [PDF]
This paper presents a reduced-complexity turbo detector for convolutional-coding aided space-time trellis coded (STTC) schemes. The proposed technique is based on the separate in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) detection principle developed for single ...

Bias in, symbolic compliance out? GPT's reliance on gender and race in strategic evaluations
Abstract Research summary Organizations are increasingly using large language models (LLMs) to support strategic evaluations. We examine whether and how these systems rely on gender and race. We asked GPT to evaluate identical startup pitches varying only the founder's name, shaping gender and race perceptions.

Interblock memory for turbo coding
We investigate a binary code, which is implemented by serially concatenating a multiplexer, a multilevel delay processor, and a signal mapper to a binary turbo encoder. To achieve improved convergence behavior, we modify the binary code by passing only a fraction of the bits in the turbo code through the multilevel delay processor and the signal mapper.

Near-Capacity Transceiver Design Using Exit-Curve Fitting: Three-Stage Turbo Detection of Irregular Convolutional Coded Joint Sphere-Packing Modulation and Space-Time Coding [PDF]
Conventional two-stage turbo-detected schemes typically suffer from a Bit Error Rate (BER) floor, preventing them from achieving infinitesimally low BER values, especially, when the inner coding stage is of non-recursive nature.
