An EXIT-Chart Aided Design Procedure for Near-Capacity N-Component Parallel Concatenated Codes [PDF]
Shannon’s channel capacity specifies the upper bound on the amount of bits per channel use. In this paper, we explicitly demonstrate that twin-component turbo codes suffer from a capacity loss, when the component code rate is less than unity, which is ...

A MODIFIED UNEQUAL POWER ALLOCATION (UPA) SCHEME FOR PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT IN BIT REPETITION TURBO CODES IN HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS (HSDPA) SYSTEM [PDF]
In this paper, a modified optimal power allocation scheme for different bits in turbo encoder has been proposed to improve the performance of Turbo Codes system in High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) service. In a typical turbo code in HSDPA system,

Recurrent neural network based turbo decoding algorithms for different code rates
Application of deep learning to error control coding is gaining special attention and neural network architectures on decoding are approached to compare with conventional ones. Turbo codes conventionally use BCJR algorithm for decoding.

On the Equivalence of Interleavers for Turbo Codes [PDF]
Three of the most common interleavers for turbo codes (TCs) are dithered relative prime (DRP) interleavers, quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleavers, and almost regular permutation (ARP) interleavers. In this paper, it is shown that DRP and QPP interleavers can be expressed in the ARP interleaver function form.

This project developed a smart bandage‐like patch (a microneedle array) for repairing diabetic bone damage. It intelligently senses signals from infection and inflammation, then releases its medicines in a specific, timed sequence: first an antibacterial agent, then an anti‐inflammatory agent, and finally growth factors.

Turbo Detection of Precoded Sphere Packing Modulation Using Four Transmit Antennas for Differential Space-Time Spreading [PDF]
This paper presents a novel turbo-detected multidimensional Sphere Packing (SP) modulation scheme using four transmit antennas combined with Differentially encoded Space-Time Spreading (DSTS). The DSTS scheme can be readily combined with PSK, QAM as well
