Enrichment of hepatic glycogen and plasma glucose from H₂18O informs gluconeogenic and indirect pathway fluxes in naturally feeding mice

18O‐enrichment of liver glycogen, triglyceride glycerol, and blood glucose of mice given 18O‐water during overnight feeding was quantified by 13C NMR and MS. Glycogen 18O‐enrichment of oxygens 3, 5, and 6 from isotope‐shifted 13C signals informed indirect pathway contributions from different sources.

A multiparametric 23Na/1H MRI protocol of the calf muscle before (t0), after (t1) eccentric exercise, and with delayed‐onset muscle soreness (t2). Overall, sodium parameters and water relaxation times peaked at different times (t1 and t2, respectively).

ABSTRACT Background MR‐generated acoustic noise may be particularly concerning at 7‐Tesla (T) systems. Noise levels can be reduced by altering gradient output using software optimization. However, such alterations might influence image quality or prolong scan times, and these optimizations have not been well characterized.
