Minimum-Delay Decoding of Turbo-Codes for Upper-Layer FEC [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
In this paper we investigate the decoding of parallel turbo codes over the binary erasure channel suited for upper-layer error correction. The proposed algorithm performs on-the-fly decoding, i.e. it starts decoding as soon as the first symbols are received.

Serially Concatenated Turbo Codes

open access: yes2009 5th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2009
The paper presents a new scheme of concatenated codes, referred to as Serially Concatenated Turbo (SCT) codes. The code is constructed as the serial combinations of two turbo codes, i.e. turbo Recursive Systematic Convolutional (RSC) codes and turbo Bose Ray Chaudhuri Hocquenghem (BCH) codes, linked by a pseudo-random interleaver.

DeepTurbo: Deep Turbo Decoder [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Present-day communication systems routinely use codes that approach the channel capacity when coupled with a computationally efficient decoder. However, the decoder is typically designed for the Gaussian noise channel and is known to be sub-optimal for non-Gaussian noise distribution.

Trust at Your Own Peril: A Mixed Methods Exploration of the Ability of Large Language Models to Generate Expert‐Like Systems Engineering Artifacts and a Characterization of Failure Modes

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multi‐purpose large language models (LLMs), a subset of generative artificial intelligence (AI), have recently made significant progress. While expectations for LLMs to assist systems engineering (SE) tasks are paramount; the interdisciplinary and complex nature of systems, along with the need to synthesize deep‐domain knowledge and ...

TXM‐Pal: a companion software for advanced data processing in spectroscopic X‐ray microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
Advanced software for X‐ray spectroscopy imaging has been developed, enabling precise and rapid XANES imaging analysis. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated by mapping the Ni oxidation states in lithium‐ion battery cathodes, thereby revealing their heterogeneity.Transmission X‐ray microscopy (TXM) is a powerful and non‐destructive tool for ...

Interleaving Gains for Receive Diversity Schemes of Distributed Turbo Codes in Wireless Half–Duplex Relay Channels [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2015
This paper proposes the interleaving gain in two different distributed turbo-coding schemes: Distributed Turbo Codes (DTC) and Distributed Multiple Turbo Codes (DMTC) for half-duplex relay system as an extension of our previous work on turbo coding ...
