A Low-Complexity Scheduling for Turbo Equalization with Turbo Decoding
2007 IEEE 65th Vehicular Technology Conference - VTC2007-Spring, 2007A novel scheduling for turbo equalization with turbo decoding is proposed. The use of turbo codes associated to turbo equalizers has been frequently investigated in the literature. The conventional turbo equalizer with turbo decoding consists of a soft input soft output equalizer cooperating with a turbo decoder. In this way, the turbo decoder performs

Turbo decoding on tailored OpenCL processor
2013 9th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2013Turbo coding is commonly used in the current wireless standards such as 3G and 4G. However, due to the high computational requirements, its software-defined implementation is challenging. This paper proposes a static multi-issue exposed datapath processor design tailored for turbo decoding.

Recently, turbo code has gathered much attention for its outstanding performance. Many literatures have been published on algorithm and applications of turbo code. However, there is little progress on the decoding mechanism of turbo decoder. In this paper we propose an asymmetry AWGN (additive white Gaussian noise channel) model.

The turbo-decoding algorithm can be viewed as a message passing procedure on a graph. We contrast the standard "forward-backward" turbo-decoding algorithm with a new "concurrent" algorithm that is suited to parallel implementation.

Interleaver for High Parallelizable Turbo Decoder
2007In this paper a new interleaver is proposed as turbo codes intern interleaver. This interleaver designed from shifted identity matrices has been developed to facilitate implementation of parallelized turbo decoding. The structure is first illustrated and then, implementation aspects are discussed.

Parallel Decoding of Turbo Codes
2018Given a turbo code generated by parallelly concatenated recursive systematic convolutional encoders, the turbo decoder comprises MAP decoders coupled in a serial connection, where each MAP decoder decodes a recursive systematic convolutional code. We propose a turbo decoding algorithm that, on a logical level of abstraction, is made of several turbo ...

The memory requirement for the uniform quantization turbo decoder is very large. The nonuniform quantization provides better or identical performance than the uniform scheme. But it is inconvenient for the latter to implement with the hardware circuits.
