Parallel Interference Cancellation Based Turbo Space-Time Equalization in the SDMA Uplink

open access: yes, 2007
A novel Parallel Interference Cancellation (PIC) based turbo Space Time Equalizer (STE) structure designed for multiple antenna assisted uplink receivers is introduced. The proposed receiver structure allows the employment of non-linear type of detectors

Iterative Equalization and Source Decoding for Vector Quantized Sources

open access: yes, 2006
In this contribution an iterative (turbo) channel equalization and source decoding scheme is considered. In our investigations the source is modelled as a Gaussian-Markov source, which is compressed with the aid of vector quantization. The communications

Experiment performance analysis of turbo code based turbo equalizer

open access: yesJournal of the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, 2015
In this paper, We analyzed the performance of turbo equalizer using turbo codes thorough the under water experiment. To compensate the distorted signal induced by multipath effect, we apply the iterative turbo codes that iteratively exchange probabilistic information between LMS-DFE and turbo decoder, thereby reducing the error rates significantly.

Iterative Decoding and Turbo Equalization: The Z-Crease Phenomenon

open access: yes, 2013
Iterative probabilistic inference, popularly dubbed the soft-iterative paradigm, has found great use in a wide range of communication applications, including turbo decoding and turbo equalization.

Trellis-Based Equalization for Sparse ISI Channels Revisited

open access: yes, 2005
Sparse intersymbol-interference (ISI) channels are encountered in a variety of high-data-rate communication systems. Such channels have a large channel memory length, but only a small number of significant channel coefficients.

Filter-based turbo equalization for TCM signals

open access: yesGLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005
In this paper, we presents a novel method of turbo equalization and decoding multi-level trellis coded modulation (TCM) signals over frequency selective channels. Results show that the proposed algorithm achieves better performance with reduced complexity compared to previous work on the MMSE filter-based turbo equalization for non-binary coded ...

Turbo-ICL: In-Context Learning-Based Turbo Equalization

open access: yes
This paper introduces a novel in-context learning (ICL) framework, inspired by large language models (LLMs), for soft-input soft-output channel equalization in coded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The proposed approach learns to infer posterior symbol distributions directly from a prompt of pilot signals and decoder feedback.
