This work presents a magnetron with an in operando concentrically movable erosion zone (cMEZ), showcased for gas phase synthesis of Cu and CuNi nanoparticles via gas aggregation source. Both, magnet configuration and operating pressure are found to impact conversion efficiency and target utilization.
