Supersonic Turbojet Noise Reduction
International Journal of Aeroacoustics, 2013Observations and Large Eddy Simulations are presented of a supersonic jet from a nozzle representative of high-performance military aircraft such as the Saab Gripen. The nozzle has a design Mach number of 1.56 and is examined at its design condition with a surrounding secondary flow at Mach numbers of 0.0, 0.1 and 0.3.

Windmilling characteristics of centrifugal-flow turbojets
KSME International Journal, 2004A new nondimensional method for predicting the windmilling performance of centrifugal flow turbojet engines in flight has been developed. The method incorporates loss correlations to estimate the performance of major engine components. Given basic engine geometry, flight Mach number, and ambient conditions, this method predicts transient and steady ...

Reduction of Turbojet Engine Noise
2004The urgency of the problem of jet noise reduction has been rising again at the present stage of aircraft technology development. The main reasons are the following. The studies of attenuation of turbo-machine noise have demonstrated that the jet is one of the main noise sources even in engines with high by-pass ratios.
