A Mathematical Model for Windmilling of a Turbojet Engine

Volume 1: Aircraft Engine; Fans and Blowers; Marine; Wind Energy; Scholar Lecture, 2021
Abstract The transient windmilling characteristic of a modern turbojet engine under different flight conditions and altitudes is obtained with numerous tests conducted at an Altitude Test Facility (ATF). A simple and practical mathematical model for predicting the transient and steady-state rotational speed of a simple turbojet engine in

Supersonic Turbojet Noise Reduction

International Journal of Aeroacoustics, 2013
Observations and Large Eddy Simulations are presented of a supersonic jet from a nozzle representative of high-performance military aircraft such as the Saab Gripen. The nozzle has a design Mach number of 1.56 and is examined at its design condition with a surrounding secondary flow at Mach numbers of 0.0, 0.1 and 0.3.

Performance Evaluation of an Experimental Turbojet Engine

International Journal of Turbo & Jet-Engines, 2017
Abstract An exergy analysis is presented including design parameters and performance assessment, by identifying the losses and efficiency of a gas turbine engine. The aim of this paper is to determine the performance of a small turbojet engine with an exergetic analysis based on test data.

Reduction of Turbojet Engine Noise

2004
The urgency of the problem of jet noise reduction has been rising again at the present stage of aircraft technology development. The main reasons are the following. The studies of attenuation of turbo-machine noise have demonstrated that the jet is one of the main noise sources even in engines with high by-pass ratios.

Windmilling characteristics of centrifugal-flow turbojets

KSME International Journal, 2004
A new nondimensional method for predicting the windmilling performance of centrifugal flow turbojet engines in flight has been developed. The method incorporates loss correlations to estimate the performance of major engine components. Given basic engine geometry, flight Mach number, and ambient conditions, this method predicts transient and steady ...
