Controller Design for Micro Turbojet Engine

2020 12th International Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEENG), 2020
Modern turbojet engines are controlled using digital controllers. First of all, the micro turbojet engine discrete model is identified. System identification technique utilized real data obtained from jet cat P200sx engine running experiments. Digital PID controllers are mostly used for controlling these engines.

Afterburners for Turbojet Engines

Journal of the Aeronautical Sciences, 1948
The general problem of pure jet aircraft take-off distance is indicated, and the basic reasons for the excess-thrust deficiency as compared to propeller aircraft are shown. The inherent advantages and disadvantages of several methods of short-duration thrust augmentation, such as fluid injection or rocket boosters, to alleviate the difficulties are ...

Availability Analysis of a Military Turbojet Engine

Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention, 2019
Availability analysis has been performed on a military turbojet engine using commercially available reliability software. Failure data of the engine over a period of 7 years are considered. The failures/defects are categorized, and then analysis is performed for the major defects.

Reduction of Turbojet Engine Noise

2004
The urgency of the problem of jet noise reduction has been rising again at the present stage of aircraft technology development. The main reasons are the following. The studies of attenuation of turbo-machine noise have demonstrated that the jet is one of the main noise sources even in engines with high by-pass ratios.

Development study of a precooled turbojet engine

Acta Astronautica, 2010
Abstract A precooled turbojet engine has been developed by JAXA used for the hypersonic airplane and spaceplane. The subscale engine named “S-engine” whose thrust and weight are about 1.2 kN and 100 kg was designed, fabricated and tested. The components and the system firing tests under the sea-level-static condition were successfully conducted. In ...

Variable Structure Control of a Turbojet Engine

1986 American Control Conference, 1986
We study the fuel control problem of a single-spool turbojet engine. A transfer function approximation method is utilized to identify linear models about operating points. Then, a sliding mode control is developed to regulate the fuel flow so that the engine speed and temperature are within their physical constraints, based on the identified linear ...

Calculation of Windmilling Characteristics of Turbojet Engines

Journal of Engineering for Power, 1981
The operation of a turbojet engine under windmilling conditions was analyzed and the relationship of engine speed and airflow has been derived. Replacing the efficiencies of compressor and turbine by a total pressure loss coefficient, the author was able to obtain the equations for matching the engine components and the universal curve of windmilling ...
