Adaptive mesh refinement simulations of a galaxy cluster merger - I. Resolving and modelling the turbulent flow in the cluster outskirts

open access: yes, 2017
The outskirts of galaxy clusters are characterised by the interplay of gas accretion and dynamical evolution involving turbulence, shocks, magnetic fields and diffuse radio emission.

Large‐Scale Synthesis of Monodispersed Perovskite Nanocrystals via Autonomous Continuous Droplet Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we propose a novel on‐chip microscale continuous droplet‐in‐flow synthesis (μ‐CDFS) that utilizes zwitterionic ligands to enable large‐scale preparation of perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) with high emission efficiency and monodispersity.

Nested polyhedra model of turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2017
A discretization of the wave-number space is proposed, using nested polyhedra, in the form of alternating dodecahedra and icosahedra that are self-similarly scaled. This particular choice allows the possibility of forming triangles using only discretized wave vectors when the scaling between two consecutive dodecahedra is equal to the golden ratio and ...

Parametric Optimization of PEDOT:PSS Aerosol Jet Printing for Enhanced Line Morphology in Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work maps and optimizes aerosol‐jet printing of PEDOT:PSS on flexible polyimide. By co‐tuning carrier and sheath gas flows, print speed, and solvent composition with surface activation, continuous, uniform microlines with sharp edges and minimal overspray are achieved.

Uncertainty Quantification of Non-Dimensional Parameters for a Film Cooling Configuration in Supersonic Conditions

open access: yesFluids, 2019
In transonic high-pressure turbine stages, oblique shocks originating from vane trailing edges impact the suction side of each adjacent vane. High-pressure vanes are cooled to tolerate the combustor exit-temperature levels, then it is highly probable ...

Minimalist turbulent boundary layer model [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2009
We introduce an elementary model of a turbulent boundary layer over a flat surface, given as a vertical random distribution of spanwise Lamb-Oseen vortex configurations placed over a non-slip boundary condition line. We are able to reproduce several important features of realistic flows, such as the viscous and logarithmic boundary sublayers, and the ...

Interface Engineering Strategies for Realizing Anode‐Free Sodium Batteries: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines anode‐free sodium batteries as a promising solution for advancing sodium‐based energy storage. It focuses on the role of interface engineering in addressing challenges such as sodium deposition, interface stability, and dendrite growth.
