DNS analysis on the correlation between local burning velocity and flame displacement speed of turbulent premixed flames

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
The local burning velocity and flame displacement speed are the major properties of premixed flames. The local burning velocity, which is the instantaneous quantity based on the local consumption rate of the unburnt mixture, is considered to be the most ...

The effects of unburned-gas temperature on the characteristics of cellular premixed flames generated by hydrodynamic and diffusive-thermal instabilities in large space: fractal dimension of cellular-flame fronts

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2017
The effects of unburned-gas temperature on the characteristics of cellular premixed flames generated by hydrodynamic and diffusive-thermal instabilities were numerically investigated.

Type Ia Supernova: Burning and Detonation in the Distributed Regime

open access: yes, 2007
A simple, semi-analytic representation is developed for nuclear burning in Type Ia supernovae in the special case where turbulent eddies completely disrupt the flame. The speed and width of the ``distributed'' flame front are derived.

Turbulent Convection in Stellar Interiors. II. The Velocity Field

open access: yes, 2008
We analyze stellar convection with the aid of 3D hydrodynamic simulations, introducing the turbulent cascade into our theoretical analysis. We devise closures of the Reynolds-decomposed mean field equations by simple physical modeling of the simulations (

Magnetic Fields Produced by Phase Transition Bubbles in the Electroweak Phase Transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The electroweak phase transition, if proceeding through nucleation and growth of bubbles, should generate large scale turbulent flow, which in turn generates magnetic turbulence and hence magnetic fields on the scale of turbulent flow.

Experiments and a correlation of turbulent burning velocities.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1985

IMPACT OF THE NOZZLE ANGLE, DISTANCE BETWEEN BURNERS, AND N2 ON BURNING VELOCITY OF THE DIFFUSOIN COUNTER FLAMES

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2020
The achievement of precise measurements on the laminar diffusion flames plays a big role in the process of realizing a wide flames range. Despite most of fuel is likely burnt in the turbulent combustion, there is still data requirement for the data on ...

Mathematical Modeling of Turbulent Gas Flames and Assessment of Environmental Indicators of Modern Gas Burning Devices

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2003
The paper reveals the procedure of calculation of velocity fields, flame temperature and changes in concentration of the components of combustion products on the basis of time and length of a turbulent flame of gas-burning devices. This method is used to

Properties of Deflagration Fronts and Models for Type Ia Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Detailed models of the explosion of a white dwarf, which include self-consistent calculations of the light curve and spectra, provide a link between observational quantities and the underlying explosion. These calculations assume spherical geometry and ...

Effect of Inert Gas on Turbulent Burning Velocities.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1999
In our previous works, the preferential diffusion effect was found to play an important role in premixed turbulent combustion characteristics, where nitrogen was added as an inert gas to several fuel/oxygen mixtures. In this study, the inert gas is changed to Ar, He and CO2, and the relationship between the turbulent burning velocity and the diffusion ...
