Orbital and Electrical Dual Function of Polymer Intercalant for Promoting NH4+ Storage in Vanadium Oxide Anode

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
The impact of polyaniline insertion on the atomic orbitals and electronic structure of vanadium oxide anode is systematically investigated for the first time. The electrode exhibits an outstanding capacity and unprecedent long‐term cycling life, owing to the electron transition to the V 3dxy state and the enhanced diffusion kinetics.

Modelling of turbulent swirling flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This thesis investigates the predictability of non-reacting and reacting anistropic turbulent, swirling flows using popular turbulence models with a robust numrical procedure. The performance of these turbulence models is assessed and compared against

Large-Eddy Simulation of combustion instabilities in a variable-length combustor. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This article presents a simulation of a model rocket combustor with continuously variable acoustic properties thanks to a variable-length injector tube. Fully compressible Large-Eddy Simulations are conducted using the AVBP code.

Experimental study on premixed flame combustion of annular burner with CO2 dilution based on OH-PLIF technology

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2019
In view of the combustion characteristics of annular chamber of micro gas turbine, a planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) technique was used to investigate the methane/air premixed turbulent multiple flames in the annular combustor and the effect of ...

Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...

Simulations of edge-flame propagation in turbulent non-premixed jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Ignition, flame propagation and stabilisation have been simulated and analysed in a turbulent jet of non-premixed methane and air. The first order Conditional Moment Closure (CMC) turbulent combustion model was fully coupled with a Reynolds-Averaged ...

Stabilization of a turbulent premixed flame by a plasma filament [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The mechanism of stabilizing a turbulent premixed methane-air flame using warm filamentary plasma is investigated by using laser diagnostics. First, stabilization of a turbulent jet flame is demonstrated in a setup using a pin-to-pin plasma discharge ...

Comparative Insights and Overlooked Factors of Interphase Chemistry in Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a comparative analysis of Li‐, Na‐, and K‐ion batteries, focusing on the critical role of electrode–electrolyte interphases. It especially highlights overlooked aspects such as SEI/CEI misconceptions, binder effects, and self‐discharge relevance, emphasizing the limitations of current understanding and offering strategies for ...

Mechanisms of turbulent flame propagation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Measurements are reported of premixed hydrogen-air turbulent burning velocities, made by the double kernel method during explosions. Turbulence was created by four high speed fans driven by electric motors within the explosion vessel.
