Beyond Closed Loops: Advancing Climate Change Mitigation by Collaborative Open Approaches
ABSTRACT Even as world leaders emphasize the urgency of limiting global warming, a slow transition to a circular economy persists. While climate mitigation efforts focus on renewable energy and efficiency measures, addressing the 45% of emissions from product manufacturing remains critical.

Displacement speeds in turbulent premixed flame simulations
The theory of turbulent premixed flames is based on a characterization of the flame as a discontinuous surface propagating through the fluid. The displacement speed, defined as the local speed of the flame front normal to itself, relative to the unburned fluid, provides one characterization of the burning velocity.

Mass Production of Waste PVC‐Mediated Bamboo‐Derived Hard Carbon for Ultra‐Long Life Sodium Storage
By a scalable PVC‐mediated bifunctional strategy, pre‐carbonized micrometer bamboo powder is converted into a functionally partitioned hard carbon anode with distinct domains. Featuring abundant internal closed pores and surface sp2‐enriched graphitic regions, this anode delivers exceptional high‐rate long‐cycle stability, retaining 93% capacity after ...

We elucidate the fundamental influences of polymer polarity on Li+ ionic environments in solid polymer electrolytes by considering four critical components: Li+, FSI−, residual solvents, and polymer matrix. Beyond facilitating LiFSI dissociation and Li+ transport, our findings underscore previously overlooked roles of polymer polarity, thereby ...
