Turbulent Prandtl Number—Where Are We?
Journal of Heat Transfer, 1994The objective of this paper is to examine critically the presently available experimental data on Turbulent Prandtl Number for the two-dimensional turbulent boundry layer, and for fully developed flow in a circular tube or a flat duct, and attempt to draw some conclusions as to where matters presently stand.

A Model for Eddy Conductivity and Turbulent Prandtl Number
This paper presents a model for eddy conductivity and turbulent Prandtl number based on the considerations of a Stokes-type flow. The expressions obtained by the model provide continuous velocity and temperature distributions for turbulent flows and are applicable to flows with pressure gradients, mass transfer, and heat transfer. Close to the wall the

Direct numerical simulation of turbulent heat transfer in pipe flows: Effect of Prandtl number
International audienceDirect numerical simulations of heat transfer in a fully developed turbulent pipe flow with isoflux condition imposed at the wall are performed for a Reynolds number based on pipe radius Re = 5500. Main emphasis is placed on Prandtl

Diffusion in anisotropic fully developed turbulence: Turbulent Prandtl number
Physical Review E, 2016Using the field theoretic renormalization group technique in the leading order of approximation of a perturbation theory the influence of the uniaxial small-scale anisotropy on the turbulent Prandtl number in the framework of the model of a passively advected scalar field by the turbulent velocity field driven by the Navier-Stokes equation is ...

Prandtl number effects in convective turbulence
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1999The effect of Prandtl number on the dynamics of a convective turbulent flow is studied by numerical experiments. In particular, three series of experiments have been performed; in two of them the Rayleigh number spanned about two decades while the Prandtl number was set equal to 0.022 (mercury) and 0.7 (air).

On the Influence of the Molecular Prandtl Number on the Turbulent Prandtl Number
1979Much more work has been done on the problem of turbulent transfer of momentum in a shear flow than on the problem of turbulent heat transfer. One of the reasons is obviously the fact, that from an experimental point of view informations about velocity-velocity correlations are easier to obtain compared with temperature-velocity correlations.
