Variable Turbulent Prandtl Number Model for Shock/Boundary-Layer Interaction
Interaction of shock waves with turbulent boundary layers can enhance the surface heat flux dramatically. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes simulations based on a constant turbulent Prandtl number often give grossly erroneous heat transfer predictions in ...

Passive scalar diffusion in three-dimensional turbulent rectangular free jets with numerical evaluation of turbulent Prandtl/Schmidt number [PDF]
The passive scalar spreading of fluids with laminar Prandtl or Schmidt number, Pr,Sc, equal to 1 in turbulent rectangular submerged free jets is analyzed by means of numerical simulation and theoretical analysis in the Reynolds number range 5000-40,000 ...

Stability of Viscous Three‐Dimensional Stratified Couette Flow via Dispersion and Mixing
ABSTRACT This article explores the stability of stratified Couette flow in the viscous 3d$3d$ Boussinesq equations. In this system, mixing effects arise from the shearing background, and gravity acts as a restoring force leading to dispersive internal gravity waves.

Mixing Behavior of Natural Gas and Hydrogen in a High‐Efficiency Vane (HEV) Static Mixer
Static mixers play a crucial role in the safe transport of hydrogen‐blended natural gas. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was employed to investigate the effects of structural parameters of the HEV static mixer on the mixing behavior and homogeneity of natural gas and hydrogen. The modeling approach was well validated against experimental data.

It is shown that turbulent Prandtl numbers for turbulent boundary layer and jet flows correlate well if compared on the basis of eddy diffusivity. Experimental data for liquid sodium (Pr= 0.0058) lead to a universal expression relating turbulent Prandtl ...
