Gas premixed combustion at high turbulence. Turbulent flame closure combustion model [PDF]
Abstract This paper is devoted to analyze the special class of turbulent premixed flames that we call intermediate steady propagation (ISP) flames. These flames are common to industrial premixed combustion chambers which operate at intensive turbulence when velocity pulsations are significantly higher than the flamelet combustion velocity.

Numerical investigation of the premixed V-flame stabilization and blowout [PDF]
Global warming and high fossil fuel consumption increase the application of the low-Nox burner with lean-premixed combustion. However, this type of combustion is more susceptible to thermoacoustic instabilities.

DNS for Turbulent Premixed Combustion
Most of practical combustion occurs in turbulent flows which involve strong coupling between turbulence and chemical processes. The heat release from combustion alters the fluid properties such as density and viscosity and in turns affects the turbulence.

Karlovitz Numbers and Premixed Turbulent Combustion Regimes for Complex-Chemistry Flames
The structure of premixed turbulent flames and governing physical mechanisms of the influence of turbulence on premixed burning are often discussed by invoking combustion regime diagrams.

Reaction zones and their structure in MILD combustion [PDF]
Three-dimensional direct numerical simulation (DNS) of turbulent combustion under moderate and intense low-oxygen dilution (MILD) conditions has been carried out inside a cuboid with inflow and outflow boundaries on the upstream and downstreamfaces ...

Computations of a Bluff-Body Stabilised Premixed Flames Using ERN Method
Combustible carbon-based energy is still prevailing as the world’s leading energy due to its high energy density. However, the oxidation of these hydrocarbons disturbs the natural carbon cycle greatly by increasing greenhouse gases.

A fast, low-memory, and stable algorithm for implementing multicomponent transport in direct numerical simulations [PDF]
Implementing multicomponent diffusion models in reacting-flow simulations is computationally expensive due to the challenges involved in calculating diffusion coefficients.
