“If I'm going to be an ally, I have to walk the walk”: Negotiating Occupational Activism Within K‐12 Educational Contexts

open access: yesSociological Inquiry, EarlyView.
Conservative lawmakers are increasingly passing legislation that would ban the teaching of race, gender, and sexuality within K‐12 schools. Because these bills impact both teachers and students, it is important to understand how teachers perceive, and potentially resist, these bills.

Turing pattern formation for reaction-convection-diffusion in fixed domains submitted to toroidal velocity fields

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
This article studies the effect of the inclusion of the transport term in the reaction-diffusion equations, through toroidal velocity fields. The formation of Turing patterns in diffusion-advection-reaction problems is studied specifically, considering ...

“Feeling out of place”: A mixed methods investigation of the impostor phenomenon among BIPOC and LGBTQ STEM college students

open access: yesAnalyses of Social Issues and Public Policy, Volume 26, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract This mixed‐methods study examines the experience of the impostor phenomenon in a racially/ethnically and sexually diverse sample of undergraduates in majors related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Guided by an intersectionality framework, we examined whether experiences of the impostor phenomenon differ at the ...

Building centaur responders: is emergency management ready for artificial intelligence?

open access: yesDisasters, Volume 50, Issue 3, July 2026.
Abstract This article examines the preparedness of emergency management (EM) for addressing questions pertaining to artificial intelligence (AI), encompassing its benefits to EM missions, the potential biases, the societal impacts, and more. We pinpoint two key shortcomings in early EM research on AI: (i) insufficient discussion of both AI's history ...

A Survey for Deep Reinforcement Learning Based Network Intrusion Detection

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
This paper surveys deep reinforcement learning (DRL) for network intrusion detection, evaluating model efficiency, minority attack detection, and dataset imbalance. Findings show DRL achieves state‐of‐the‐art results on public datasets, sometimes surpassing traditional deep learning.

PATRONES DE TURING SOBRE ESFERAS CON CRECIMIENTO CONTINUO PADRÕES DE TURING SOBRE ESFERAS COM CRESCIMENTO CONTÍNUO TURING PATTERNS ON SPHERES WITH CONTINUOUS GROWTH

open access: yesRevista EIA, 2012

Detection of protein symmetry and structural rearrangements using secondary structure elements

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Many proteins exhibit a degree of internal symmetry in their tertiary structure, including circular permutations. These characteristics play an important role in terms of the functional robustness of proteins against mutations, and are pivotal for the study of protein function and evolution.
