Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Illuminating Mitochondrial RNA G‐Quadruplexes as Structural Brakes on RNA Granule Assembly and OXPHOS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new fluorescent probe, MitoQUMA, brings mitochondrial RNA G‐quadruplexes (mtRNA G4s) into view in live cells. This tool reveals that excessive mtRNA G4 formation halts mitochondrial RNA granule (MRG) assembly, opposite to the phase‐separation role of cytoplasmic RNA G4s. A chemical genetic screen further identifies a Wnt/β‐catenin–GRSF1–mtRNA G4 axis

Evaluation of two feeding programs on productive traits and foot injuries in commercial turkeys

open access: yesNova Scientia, 2017
Introduction: Many factors affect live weight gain and carcass yield in poultry. Among those, feeding program, sex and diseases are the most relevant. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a high protein (HP) and a low protein (LP) feeding ...

Constraint of Lignin–Carbohydrate Complex Orchestrated on Polyphenol in Oil–Water Interface Targeting Ulcerative Colitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the W1/O/W2 emulsion–based targeted therapy delivery system for ulcerative colitis (UC) utilizing LCC as surfactant for the first time. This multifunctional emulsion offered certain therapeutic advantages for UC, including targeted colonic delivery of active compounds, synergistic modulation of gut microbiota through combined ...

Impacts of Wild Pigs on Space Use and Movements of Wild Turkeys During Autumn and Winter

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Wild pigs (Sus scrofa) affect native flora and fauna in the areas they invade, including ground‐nesting birds. While results from camera‐based studies have suggested that wild pigs could spatiotemporally impact resource selection of wild turkeys ...

Pharmacokinetics of Tylvalosin in Broiler Turkeys (Meleagris Gallopavo) After Single Intravenous and Oral Administration

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2019
Pharmacokinetics of tylvalosin (TVN) were determined in eight broiler turkeys following a single intravenous (IV) and peroral (PO) administration of 25 mg/kg b.w using a crossover design with a 3 weeks washout period.

Performance Enhancement in Hafnium Oxide Through Homogeneous and Heterogeneous co‐Doping Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive co‐doping toolkit to optimize the performance and reliability of fluorite‐structure ferroelectrics like hafnium oxide. By employing homogeneous and heterogeneous co‐doping strategies, precise control over crystallization behavior, polarization hysteresis, and oxygen vacancy distribution is achieved.

Markets Mitigate Land‐Use Competition From Energy Crops and Increase Farm Revenues

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Meeting the US Sustainable Aviation Fuel Grand Challenge target of 35 billion gal annually by 2050 will require an estimated 380 million–700 million dry tons of agricultural biomass feedstock. This study evaluates the implications of large‐scale biomass production for land use, crop production, and market outcomes under mature market ...
