Amplifying Anti‐Tumor Immune Responses via Mitochondria‐Targeting Near‐Infrared Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interfacial Nd3+‐triplet energy transfer enables direct activation of molecular triplets under near‐infrared (NIR) irradiation for reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) exaggerates hypoxia, which initiates subsequent hypoxia‐activated chemotherapy.

On the true nature of ÇOKTAN in Turkish

open access: yesDilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi
Turkish has the temporal adverb çoktan ‘long time ago’ that has been treated as a positive polarity item (PPI) in recent studies. It has been argued that it cannot co-occur with clause-mate negation, whereas native speakers seem to have split it into two

Circulating Tumor Cells Shed Shearosome Extracellular Vesicles in Capillary Bifurcations That Activate Endothelial and Immune Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using microfluidic models of capillary networks, this study discovered that fluid shear stresses on circulating tumor cells transiting through capillary‐sized bifurcations shed a novel class of shear‐dependent large extracellular vesicle, “shearosomes”, whose proteome comprises of over 3000 distinct proteins.
