Single‐Atom Chromium‐Embedded N‐Doped Graphene as a Multifunctional Separator Coating for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries promise improved energy density and cost‐effectiveness over lithium‐ion batteries but face commercialization challenges like the lithium polysulfide (LiPS) shuttle effect. This research introduces chromium‐incorporated nitrogen‐doped graphene (Cr@NG) as a novel separator coating, enhancing conductivity and catalytic ...

Phenylenediamine‐Derived Carbon Dots for Carbon‐Based Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
This study, phenylenediamine‐derived fluorescent carbon dots are directly used as active electrode materials in carbon‐based supercapacitors in both symmetric and asymmetric configurations without the need for hybridization and their electrochemical performances are evaluated to explore their potential.

Enhancing the Energy Density of Zn‐Ion Capacitors Using Redox‐Active Choline Anthraquinone Electrolyte

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Biocompatible redox electrolytes: The presence of choline chloride in aqueous ZnCl2 electrolyte improves the stability and performance of Zn‐ion capacitor is shown. An enhancement in energy density is achieved by the addition of choline anthraquinone sulphonate redox molecule in the electrolyte. Owing to ease of recyclability, high theoretical capacity
