Turkish politics: raison d’État versus republic
International Review of Sociology, 2012Turkey is still far from having reached the level of advanced representative democracies. Turkish social and political life oscillate between the two modes of modern unfreedom: tryranny of majority and soft despotism. The logic of raison d'Etat is observed as the dominant state of mind in Turkey both in power circles and among the ruled.

TurCoins: Turkish Republic Coin Dataset
2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2021In this paper, we present a novel and comprehensive dataset which contains Turkish Republic coins minted since 1924 and present a deep learning based system that can automatically classify coins. The proposed dataset consists of 11080 coin images from 138 different classes.
