Wild pig habitat use impacted by prescribed fire in the William B. Bankhead National Forest, USA

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 4, May 2026.
Natural resource management activities like integrated wild pig control programs and 3–5‐year interval prescribed burning can reduce wild pig activity and habitat but can have an unintended side effect of allowing them to thrive in sensitive and protected areas, where access and tools are restricted.

Propagation and Depropagation Kinetics of Tetrahydrofurfuryl Methacrylate Investigated by PLP‐SEC

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 227, Issue 9, 15 May 2026.
The propagation and depropagation kinetics of the bio‐based monomer tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate (THFMA) were quantified via PLP‐SEC over a wide temperature range (10∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$–160°C). Beyond that, lauryl methacrylate (LMA) was investigated as a reference system.

Bone Regeneration Using Cotton‐Like Artificial Bone Seeded With Bone Marrow Cells

open access: yesOral Science International, Volume 23, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Autologous bone grafts using the iliac crest or fibula are considered standard treatment for jawbone defects and cleft palate, but these approaches are clinically not considered to be mild invasion, and there is a risk of complications at the donor site.

Eliciting Utility Functions for International Migration Decisions

open access: yesPopulation, Space and Place, Volume 32, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Migration is a highly complex and uncertain process that has the potential to have large impacts on societies around the world. One key driver of this complexity and uncertainty is the autonomous agency of the actors involved, particularly the decision‐making processes of potential migrants. Most theories and models rely on simplistic decision

Five decades of hand‐feel soil texture estimation: Accuracy, challenges, and improvements

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, Volume 90, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Abstract Soil texture refers to the proportion of fine soil particles with diameters less than 2 mm, classified into particle size categories that define the soil texture class. Hand‐feel estimation in the field is widely used by soil scientists and technicians during pedological surveys to characterize soil horizons.
