Southwestern Tian Shan: 2. Timing of Cenozoic Mountain Building, Intra‐Montane Basin Inversion, and Relation to Lithospheric Mantle Indentation

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Cenozoic reactivation of the Paleozoic thick‐skinned fold‐thrust belt of the southwestern Tian Shan has—as the Afghan‐Tajik Basin inversion—been interpreted to be driven by Indian mantle‐lithosphere indentation beneath the Pamir. Herein, we date the reactivation and explore its temporal and spatial variations. Three structural domains emerged.

Integration of In Vitro and In Silico Results From Chemical and Biological Assays of Rheum turkestanicum and Calendula officinalis Flower Extracts

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2025.
The ethanol extract of Rheum turkestanicum contained the highest level of total phenolic. 5‐O‐caffeoylquinic acid and catechin gallate were detected as the main components. Good interactions were found between isorhamnetin 3‐O‐glucoside‐Staphylococcus aureus MurE and 3‐O‐caffeoylquinic acid‐MurE of S. aureus complexes.

Latitudinal Variation in the Timing of Nest Predator Activity Is Habitat Specific

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Biogeography, Volume 34, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim The goal of this work was to investigate whether the community of avian nest predators shifts from nocturnal to diurnal with changes in latitude. This hypothesis was formulated 70 years ago, under the rationale that longer day length during the bird breeding season at high latitudes increases opportunities for visual predators.
