This paper investigates the phenomenon of grammatical interference in the category of possession within the Uzbek dialect spoken in Turkmenistan. As a result of close and prolonged language contact, the Uzbek dialect in this region has developed distinct morpho-syntactic features under the influence of the dominant Turkmen language.
