Linux has been heralded as the first organically created operating system (OS): an open-source OS enhanced and backed by thousands of programmers worldwide. In the process, it has grown in popularity. However, Linux may have reached a turning point at which it can either address several important challenges or face problems that could limit future ...

Occurrence of turning point on environmental Kuznets curve in the process of (de)industrialization
, 2020Given the inverted U-shaped relationship between environmental quality and economic development, there exists a turning point which implies a transition from the state of environmental deterioration to the state of environmental improvement.

Midwifery — The turning point?
Australian College of Midwives Incorporated Journal, 1996This paper endeavours to respond to suggestions about the 'fate' of midwifery in Australia and to provide stimulus for further discourse and analysis about where and how midwifery is going and growing, now and in the future. The tone is set as one of optimism and self-determination, as midwifery evolves within its history in Australia and finds and ...

On Covering Points with Minimum Turns
International Journal of Computational Geometry & Applications, 2012We study the problem of finding a polygonal chain of line segments to cover a set of points in ℝd, d≥2, with the goal of minimizing the number of links or turns in the chain. A chain of line segments that covers all points in the given set is called a covering tour if the chain is closed, and is called a covering path if the chain is open.

Quantification of the turning point saturation for cross bedded CO2 storage reservoirs
, 2020Cross bedding is a prominent sedimentary structure commonly found in fluvial and coastal to shallow-marine sedimentary sequences, which are often considered for the geological CO2 storage. A millimeter-thick silt- or mudstone lamina draped over a lens of

Turning points Turning points for wind quintet and accordion
2010The title of the work refers to its frequent changes in style and mood around various points. The rhythmic 'shot' chord which opens the work serves a colotomic function throughout, 'announcing' transitions to new material. A second transitional figure, consisting of a simple trill, functions in a similar way.
