Post‐treatment of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with an AlBr3/CH2Br2 solution does not induce Al3+ substitution at Pb2+ sites. Instead, a Friedel–Crafts reaction generates Br− ions that passivate halide defects, markedly increasing PLQY and improving structural stability without bandgap modulation.

A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Endogenous Voter Turnout and Income Redistribution [PDF]
In this paper, a simple model is proposed to endogenize voting behavior that incorporates a sense of duty to vote. We assume that a sense of duty to vote is an increasing function of a person's human capital and the public faith in politics, and those ...

A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Who Reports to Turnout in Surveys? A Validation Study on the Voter Turnout Bias in Switzerland
Since the early days of postelection surveying, the question of how accurate self-reported participation actually is has bothered researchers. The main reason for doubts stems from the observation that turnout in elections and votes based on self ...

Efficient and Robust Standing Postures of Quadruped Robots
A calibrated static framework estimates load, optimizes torques, and adapts posture so quadruped robots stand efficiently and robustly under external payloads, achieving up to 50% lower torque demand. Inspired by the natural posture adjustments of animals under external loading, this article presents an optimization‐based framework for minimizing joint

Smooth Politicians and Paternalistic Voters: A Theory of Large Elections [PDF]
We propose a new game theoretic approach to modeling large elections that overcomes the “paradox of voting” in a costly voting framework, without reliance on the assumption of ad hoc preferences for voting.

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...
