A Tutorial on Interaction

Epidemiologic Methods, 2014
Abstract In this tutorial, we provide a broad introduction to the topic of interaction between the effects of exposures. We discuss interaction on both additive and multiplicative scales using risks, and we discuss their relation to statistical models (e.g. linear, log-linear, and logistic models).

Retrenchment Tutorial

Fourth IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering and Formal Methods (SEFM'06), 2006
The various theories of model based refinement that have arisen over the years offer powerful methods of transforming abstract formal models into (what are ultimately) implementations, with a high degree of assurance that suitable properties of the abstract model have been preserved.

AutoMod tutorial

Proceedings of the 28th conference on Winter simulation - WSC '96, 1996
The AutoMod/sup TM/ simulation system differs significantly from other systems because of its ability to deal with the physical elements of a system in physical (graphical) terms and the logical elements of a system in logical terms. AutoMod also offers advanced features to allow users to simulate complex movement (kinematics and velocity) of equipment

AutoSched tutorial

Proceedings of the 28th conference on Winter simulation - WSC '96, 1996
The AutoSched/sup TM/ finite capacity planning and scheduling tool helps you increase throughput, reduce in-process inventory, and increase equipment and personnel utilization. AutoSched efficiently schedules all of the constraints in your factory, such as shift schedules, work setup rules, batching, preventative maintenance, machine efficiency, and ...

Wave: A tutorial

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2009
Intelligent transportation systems have been under development since at least the early 1990s. The rationale behind the concept is to automate the interactions among vehicles and infrastructure to achieve high levels of security, comfort, and efficiency.

MATHLAB tutorial

Proceedings of the 1975 annual conference on - ACM 75, 1975
MATHLAB is an on-line system, publicly available under the DECsystem-10 Tops-10 and TENEX operating systems, which provides computer aid for the mechanical symbolic processes encountered in analysis. It is capable of performing, automatically and symbolically, such common procedures as simplification, substitution, differentiation, polynomial ...

TUTORIAL ON CONTINUATION

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1991
A computational study of most nonlinear phenomena is based on equations that involve a parameter. Solutions to the equations vary with the parameter. An essential tool for generating such solutions is continuation. This paper presents a tutorial on continuation, and explains the principles of predictor–corrector methods.

A tutorial on WITNESS

1990 Winter Simulation Conference Proceedings, 2002
WITNESS, a computerized simulation system designed for modeling manufacturing operations, has been designed to enable people with no previous simulation experience to learn and apply simulation modeling quickly. Models are constructed by defining the key elements that make up the manufacturing system, displaying them on the screen, and specifying the ...
