Long‐Term Effects of Xenotransplantation of Human Enteric Glia in an Immunocompetent Rat Model of Acute Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Acute brain injuries are characterized by extensive tissue damage, resulting in debilitating deficits in patients. Despite considerable progress, cell‐based approaches have yet to identify an ideal candidate. This long‐term study explores the use of an untested cell source – human enteric glia – and a non‐invasive administration route – intranasal ...

Testing the Keynesian Proposition of Twin Deficits in the Presence of Trade Liberalisation: Evidence from Sri Lanka after War: the case of a bridge too far? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the long-run and short-run relationships between the current account deficit, budget deficit, savings and investment gap and trade openness in Sri Lanka using the autoregressive distributive lagged (ARDL) approach.

Modifying Glucose Metabolism Reverses Memory Defects of Alzheimer's Disease Model at Late Stages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using spatial transcriptomics, we show that ferul enanthate (SL‐ZF‐01) reverses episodic‐like memory deficits in aged, but not young, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice. SL restores glucose metabolism and Glucose Transporter 1/3 expression via an ‘Aging‐AD‐Rescue’ pattern, rescuing deficits seen in aged AD mice.

Budgetary and external imbalances relationship: a panel data diagnostic [PDF]

open access: yes
We assess the cointegration relationship between current account and budget balances, and effective real exchange rates, using recent bootstrap panel cointegration techniques and SUR methods.

NDST3‐Induced Epigenetic Reprogramming Reverses Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NDST3‐mediated epigenetic reprogramming revitalizes neuronal circuits in the substantia nigra and striatum to halt dopaminergic neuron degeneration and restore motor function in Parkinson's disease models. This strategy promotes neuronal maintenance and functional recovery, highlighting NDST3's therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative disorders ...

Twin deficits hypothesis for European countries

open access: yes, 2015
Treball Final de Grau en Economia. Codi: EC1049. Curs: 2014/2015 Recently, several European economies have suffered a deterioration in their fiscal and current account imbalances. The global crisis has contributed to possible linkages between fiscal and current account deficits. These linkages are known as ”The Twin Deficit Hypothesis”.

Platelet Rubicon Bidirectional Regulation of GPVI and Integrin αIIbβ3 Signaling Mitigates Stroke Infarction Without Compromising Hemostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Rubicon as a key platelet protein that bidirectionally regulates GPVI and integrin αIIbβ3 signaling. Platelet Rubicon protects against cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury by limiting infarction without increasing hemorrhage.

Narrowing the US twin deficits: simulations with a world macroeconometric model [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we extend the macroeconometric model developed in Bagnai (2004) by linking it to a submodel for the Japanese economy, and we utilize this extended model to investigate several hypotheses of reduction in the US twin deficits.

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,
