Evolutionary radiation of large‐bodied gorgonopsians from the lower Abrahamskraal formation of South Africa

Abstract The middle Permian represents a critical interval in therapsid evolution, when gorgonopsians emerged as some of the first specialized apex predators within terrestrial ecosystems.
