Thermal and economic analysis of preinsulated and twin-pipe heat network operation

Energy, 2020
Abstract This study focuses on the economic analysis of the heating network modernization by using preinsulated pipes and twin-pipes. The cost analysis is based on different type, diameter, and technological diagrams of different heating network pipe variants (from DN25to DN100) and various types of insulation.

Free transverse vibrations of an elastically connected simply supported twin pipe system

Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2010
In this paper, free vibration analyses of a parallel placed twin pipe system simulated by simply supported-simply supported and fixed-fixed Euler-Bernoulli beams resting on Winkler elastic soil are presented. The motion of the system is described by a homogenous set of two partial differential equations, which is solved by a simulation method called ...

Effect of upstream developing length on the flow field of twin pipe jets

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2008
It is well known that initial conditions significantly affect the flow field and the evolution characteristics of the jets. In the present study, experiments on twin pipe jets were performed to understand the effect of developing length on the twin-jet characteristics. The developing length was varied in the range of 4< L/ D<9, and hot-wire data

Metallic Density Mapping – Buried Piping Network Digital Twin Modeling CP Current Requirements

CONFERENCE 2025
Abstract This paper describes a methodology to develop a digital twin of the buried assets of a complex plant environment by mapping the metallic surface area buried throughout the facility. This digital twin can be utilized to calculate the current required for cathodic protection of buried piping. On a broader scale, this system can be

Fracture Assessment of Austenitic Stainless Steel Piping With Twin Flaws in TIG Weld

Volume 1: Codes and Standards, 2009
Fracture behavior of austenitic stainless steel piping for boiling water reactor (BWR) internals with circumferential through wall twin flaws at the weld was investigated. A 150A Sch.40 piping of type 316L stainless steel which has an outer diameter of 165.2 mm and a thickness of 7.1 mm was butt welded by tungsten inert gas (TIG) weld and single or ...
