Dizygotic twins with myelomeningocele
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2003Among the neural tube defects incidence of spinabifida and myelomeningocele is less in twins compared to singletons. This article reports a case of dizygotic twins with myelomeningocele, a rare occurrence. Possible association of twining and neural tube defects and its impact on genetic counseling in such cases has been discussed.

The endocrinology of dizygotic twinning in the human
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 1998Heredity, higher maternal age and increased parity are well defined conditions associated with dizygotic twinning. An endocrine model of excessive secretion of pituitary gonadotrophic hormones explains multiple ovulation as a result of multiple follicle growth.

MONOZYGOTIC AND DIZYGOTIC TWIN DIAGNOSIS
Annals of Human Genetics, 1955SummaryA method of estimating the probability of dizygotic and monozygotic twin pairs is described. Parent‐child and sib‐sib frequency tables for the ABO, MNS and Rhesus blood‐group systems and formulae for obtaining these tables for the P, Lutheran, Kell, Duffy, Kidd and non‐secretor (or Lewis) systems are given.Tables of the distribution of ...

Myotonia Congenita in Dizygotic Twins
European Neurology, 1972A pair of dizygotic twins suffering from myotonia congenita born in Great Britain, is described. The twins were subjected to genetic, biochemical and electromyographic studies as were 5 relations in ...

Duodenal atresia in dizygotic twins
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1997The authors report duodenal atresia occurring in both members of dizygotic twins who showed no signs of Down's syndrome, and both had normal chromosomal constitutions. They both had the two unlinked end type of atresia in the second portion of the duodenum, and direct end-to-end duodenoduodenostomy was carried out.

Coarctation of the aorta in dizygotic twins
Cardiology in the Young, 2000AbstractThe incidence of congenital heart disease is higher in monozygotic than dizygotic twins, with a higher concordance rate. Although coarctation of the aorta has previously been reported in monozygotic twins, to the best of our knowledge it has not been described in dizygotic twins. We report here such a concurrence in dizygotic twins conceived by

Sirenomelia dipus in a dizygotic twin
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2002A rare case of sirenomelia in a LBW, IUGR & second of a dizygotic twin having multiple congenital anomalies is being reported. Apart from the features of sirenomelia, the newborn had a single umbilical artery, radial hypoplasia, total anorectal & urogenital agenesis and undetermined sex.
