Investigating the Effect of kind of aggregate on strength and permeability of concrete [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2018
Permeability is one of the most important factors affecting in the durability of concrete. So in this article, the effect of concrete strength, water absorption, density and strength of rock on the permeability of concrete studied.

Twisted C‐Brackets

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, 2022
AbstractWe consider the double field formulation of the closed bosonic string theory, and calculate the Poisson bracket algebra of the symmetry generators governing both general coordinate and local gauge transformations. Parameters of both of these symmetries depend on a double coordinate, defined as a direct sum of the initial and T‐dual coordinate ...

Kähler metrics via Lorentzian Geometry in dimension four

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2019
Given a semi-Riemannian 4-manifold (M, g) with two distinguished vector fields satisfying properties determined by their shear, twist and various Lie bracket relations, a family of Kähler metrics gK is constructed, defined on an open set in M, which ...

Twist Positivity [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Physics, 1999
We identify a positivity property for partition functions in quantum systems with a unitary symmetry group, and we call this "twist positivity." The existence of Feynman-Kac measures and the existence of zero-mass limits are both related to this property.

Practical tips and tricks in measuring strain, strain rate and twist for the left and right ventricles

open access: yesEcho Research and Practice, 2019
Strain imaging provides an accessible, feasible and non-invasive technique to assess cardiac mechanics. Speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) is the primary modality with the utility for detection of subclinical ventricular dysfunction.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Twisted WZW branes from twisted REA's [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2005
Quantum geometry of twisted Wess--Zumino--Witten branes is formulated in the framework of twisted Reflection Equation Algebras. It is demonstrated how the representation theory of these algebras leads to the correct classification and localisation of branes.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The study of the hoisting rope with changes in geometric parameters and mechanical properties of screw elements [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник Брянского государственного университета, 2019
When loading the rope considering changes in the geo-metric parameters and mechanical properties of the screw elements of the axial tensile strands (wire) layers, interact with each other, get an elastic deformation, and therefore there is a waviness in ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
