U-shaped bilayer graphene channel transistor with very high Ion/Ioff ratio

open access: yes, 2011
A novel graphene transistor architecture is reported. The transistor has a U-shaped geometry and was fabricated using a gallium focused ion beam (FIB). The channel conductance was tuned with a back gate.

Angle-Dependent Electrocatalytic Activity of Twisted Bilayer Graphene for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes
Two-dimensional (2D) materials are attractive for their unique electronic structures and catalytic properties. In this work, we propose to use the twist angle as a knob to tune the catalytic properties of 2D materials. As proof of concept, we investigate

Polarization Dynamics in Ferroelectrics: Insights Enabled by Machine Learning Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Machine learning molecular dynamics is presented as a route to capture polarization switching, domain wall kinetics, topological polar textures, and polar mechanical coupling beyond the limits of conventional atomistic methods. This Perspective surveys recent progress and identifies key methodological directions, including long‐range electrostatics ...

Interfacial magnon-mediated superconductivity in twisted bilayer graphene

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
The interfacial coupling between electrons and magnons in adjacent layers can mediate an attractive electron–electron interaction and induce superconductivity.

Evolution of the electronic band structure of twisted bilayer graphene upon doping

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The electronic band structure of twisted bilayer graphene develops van Hove singularities whose energy depends on the twist angle between the two layers.

Hierarchical Physical‐Cyber Encryption via Metasurface‐Encoded Holographic Keys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Physical‐layer encryption based on metasurfaces has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional algorithmic cryptography by embedding security into physical processes. However, most existing metasurface‐based encryption schemes operate within single‐stage or static frameworks, where correct physical illumination directly reveals the ...

Engineering Dirac Cones in Graphene for Efficient Iodide Catalysis: Insights by Nanoscale Electrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene iodide oxidation is regulated by Dirac cone engineering. Electrostatic gating tunes the Fermi level to control local iodide oxidation reaction activity, while magic‐angle twisted bilayer graphene creates flat‐band‐derived interfacial states that promote charge transfer and iodine‐species interaction, revealing a nanoscale route to electronic ...

Moiré phonons in the twisted bilayer graphene

open access: yes, 2019
We study the in-plane acoustic phonons in twisted bilayer graphenes using the effective continuum approach. We calculate the phonon modes by solving the continuum equation of motion for infinitesimal vibration around the static relaxed state with triangular domain structure.

Toward High‐Resolution Polymeric Neural Interfaces: A Practical Guide for Electron Beam Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) enables sub‐micron patterning of polymer‐based neural implants, overcoming the resolution limits of optical lithography. By addressing challenges such as charging, non‐planarity, and substrate heating, it supports higher channel density, improved miniaturization, and better long‐term tissue integration.
