Reaction mechanism governing Ti2AlC MAX‐phase formation from elemental 2Ti:Al:C powder mixture during spark plasma synthesis was delineated through in‐depth microstructural characterizations using HTDSC, XRD, SEM–EDS–EBSD and elucidated by density functional theory (DFT)‐based ab initio calculations.

Refined Epitaxial Growth of YbRh2Si2 Thin Films
Epitaxial thin films of the heavy fermion compound YbRh2Si2 have opened new possibilities for investigating the strange metal state. This study enhances the crystallinity and surface smoothness of YbRh2Si2 thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy.

From Stripes to Hexagons: Strain‐Induced 2D Pb Phases Confined Between Graphene and SiC
Intercalating Pb beneath epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) stabilizes distinct 2D phases at the interface. Using LEED, LEEM, SEM, and STM, the formation of characteristic stripe and hexagonal Pb monolayer structures is observed, and atomistic models are provided.
