Quantitative two-dimensional echocardiography
1982This thesis reports studies of the motion and shape of the walls of the heart using data extracted from two-dimensional echocardiograms. The relevant literature and clinical practice are first reviewed at length. The development of hardware and software systems for digitally recording two-dimensional echocardiograms (scans) is described.

Two dimensional echocardiography during PTCA
1990More than fifty years ago Tennant and Wiggers were the first to demonstrate that ‘the ventricular zone affected by ligation of a large coronary branch not only appears cyanotic and dilated, but that it seems to alter in its mode of contraction’ [1].

Transthoracic echocardiography/two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography
2016Abstract The echocardiogram is an extremely useful technique that gives all relevant information on morphology and function of the heart in a wide range of clinical situations. The very first step in echo is how to achieve the images needed for the cardiac evaluation.
