Tracking Outflow using Line-Locking (TOLL). I. The case study of Quasar J221531-174408 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Investigating line-locked phenomena within quasars is crucial for understanding the dynamics of quasar outflows, the role of radiation pressure in astrophysical flows, and the star formation history and metallicity of the early universe. We have initiated the Tracking Outflow by Line-Locking (TOLL) project to study quasar outflow by studying line ...

Ag‐Cu Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced LSPR Absorption: the Role of Surface Roughness and near‐field Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates the plasmonic properties and biosensing capabilities of a nanocomposite incorporating Cu and Ag nanoparticles for detecting anti‐DbpA antibodies associated with Lyme disease. The enhanced LSPR response is explained through FDTD simulations of Cu–Ag near‐field interactions and increased surface roughness.

TXSQL: Lock Optimizations Towards High Contented Workloads (Extended Version) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Two-phase locking (2PL) is a fundamental and widely used concurrency control protocol. It regulates concurrent access to database data by following a specific sequence of acquiring and releasing locks during transaction execution, thereby ensuring transaction isolation.

How to Achieve High Spatial Resolution in Organic Optobioelectronic Devices?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study explores how the optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors impact on the resolution of light‐activated bioelectronic interfaces. Using photovoltage and photocurrent microscopy techniques, the authors show that H2PC/PTCDI heterojunctions enable a resolution down to 6.5 µm due to low carrier mobility along the heterojunction.

Toward Personalized Stationary Chromatography Phases: Equipping Commercial Silica Phases with Selected Peptide‐Based Binding Domains to Tailor Affinity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The 7‐mer peptide motifs QFFLFFQ, QFFEFFQ, and QFQQSFF, known as good, medium, and poor binders for the photosensitizers m‐THPC and Chlorin E6 are covalently immobilized on commercial amino‐functionalized silica particles by inverse electron‐demand Diels‐Alder ligation.
