Stimulus-locked responses of two phase oscillators coupled with delayed feedback [PDF]
For a system of two phase oscillators coupled with delayed self-feedback we study the impact of pulsatile stimulation administered to both oscillators. This system models the dynamics of two coupled phase-locked loops (PLLs) with a finite internal delay within each loop.

Lock-Free Locks Revisited [PDF]
This paper presents a new and practical approach to lock-free locks based on helping, which allows the user to write code using fine-grained locks, but run it in a lock-free manner. Although lock-free locks have been suggested in the past, they are widely viewed as impractical, have some key limitations, and, as far as we know, have never been ...

Scalable Range Locks for Scalable Address Spaces and Beyond [PDF]
Range locks are a synchronization construct designed to provide concurrent access to multiple threads (or processes) to disjoint parts of a shared resource. Originally conceived in the file system context, range locks are gaining increasing interest in the Linux kernel community seeking to alleviate bottlenecks in the virtual memory management ...

High power coupled CO2 waveguide laser array [PDF]
A hollow-bore ridge waveguide technique for phase locking arrays of coupled CO2 rf excited waveguide lasers was demonstrated. Stable phase-locked operation of two- and three-channel arrays has been demonstrated at the 50 W output level.

Mutual synchronization of spin-torque oscillators within a ring array
An array of spin torque nano-oscillators (STNOs), coupled by dipolar interaction and arranged on a ring, has been studied numerically and analytically.

Oscillatory solitons and time-resolved phase locking of two polariton condensates
When pumped nonresonantly, semiconductor microcavity polaritons form Bose–Einstein condensates that can be manipulated optically. Using tightly-focused excitation spots, radially expanding condensates can be formed in close proximity.

Transitions to Measure Synchronization in Coupled Hamiltonian Systems
Transitions to measure synchronization in two coupled $\phi ^{4}$ lattices are investigated based on numerical simulations. The relationship between measure synchronization (MS), phase locking and system's total energy is studied both for periodic and ...

Phase locking dynamics of dipolarly coupled vortex-based spin transfer oscillators
Phase locking dynamics of dipolarly coupled vortices excited by spin-polarized current in two identical nanopillars is studied as a function of the interpillar distance L.

Nontrivial Phase Coupling in Polariton Multiplets
We investigate the phase coupling between spatially separated polariton condensates under nonresonant optical pulsed excitation. In the simple case of two condensates, we observe phase locking either in symmetric or antisymmetric states.
