Sarilumab in Polyarticular‐Course Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: Dose‐Finding and One‐Year Analysis of a Phase 2b, Open‐Label, Multicenter Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This study assessed sarilumab in treating patients with polyarticular‐course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pcJIA). Methods This phase 2b, open‐label study (NCT02776735) consisted of three sequential parts (each with a core‐treatment and extension‐phase). During part 1, three doses were assessed in two weight groups (Group A/B: ≥30–60 kg/≥10–<

Injection locking of optomechanical oscillators via acoustic waves

open access: yes, 2017
Injection locking is a powerful technique for synchronization of oscillator networks and controlling the phase and frequency of individual oscillators using similar or other types of oscillators.

Phasic firing and coincidence detection by subthreshold negative feedback: divisive or subtractive or, better, both [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Phasic neurons typically fire only for a fast-rising input, say at the onset of a step current, but not for steady or slow inputs, a property associated with type III excitability.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

3D‐Printed Serial Snap‐Through Architectures for Programmable Mechanical Response

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A serial snap‐through architecture is realized using compact 3D‐printed von Mises truss units arranged in a staged cascade. Their geometry and boundary conditions program multistage mechanical responses with plateaux and re‐hardening regimes. An inverted‐compliance model predicts these behaviors and enables analytical design of programmable force ...

Switchable and high-efficiency phase-locking of S-band magnetrons with coaxial line

open access: yesAIP Advances
We propose a coaxial line structure for phase-locking between magnetrons in the S-band for the first time. In this structure, two magnetrons operating in the π-mode are tightly coupled by the coaxial line.

Dynamic phase-locking states and personality in sub-acute mild traumatic brain injury: An exploratory study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Research has shown that maladaptive personality characteristics, such as Neuroticism, are associated with poor outcome after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).

Phase-locking at low-level of quanta

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss phase-locking phenomena at low-level of quanta for parametrically driven nonlinear Kerr resonator (PDNR) in strong quantum regime. Oscillatory mode of PDNR is created in the process of a degenerate down-conversion of photons under interaction ...

The dynamics of phase locking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Many low-frequency phenomena such as the Madden-Julian oscillation (MJO) or the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) exhibit rapid growth where they appear to be undergoing a phase locking with other time scales such as the annual cycle.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.
