Energy migration in molecular assemblies:The characterisation and differentiation of two-photon mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Energy migration between chromophores plays a prominent role in a range of energy harvesting assemblies. Recent advances in the design and production of light-harvesting polymers have led to the synthesis of novel two-photon absorbing dendrimers.

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Hard x-ray intensity autocorrelation using direct two-photon absorption

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
An intensity autocorrelation measurement is demonstrated to characterize a pulse duration of 9-keV x-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) pulses from a split-delay optical (SDO) system with four-bounce silicon 220 reflections in each branch.

Demonstration of an All‐Optical AND Gate Mediated by Photochromic Molecules

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A logic AND gate that runs on photons is demonstrated. It relies on two spatially separated photochromic molecules that work in tandem. Abstract The realization of a photonic logic AND gate, i.e. a logic AND gate that runs on photons rather than electrons, and where all steps are controlled by light, is demonstrated. In a proof‐of‐principle experiment,

Width Dependent Two-Photon Absorption in Monolayer Black Phosphorus Nanoribbons

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Black phosphorus nanoribbons (BPNs) might offer alternatives to narrow-gap compound semiconductors for tunable optoelectronics in infrared region. In this work we present a quantum perturbation theory on two-photon absorption (TPA) in monolayer armchair ...

Two‐Photon Excited Near‐Infrared Phosphorescence Based on Secondary Supramolecular Confinement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
Organic phosphorescence materials have received wide attention in bioimaging for bio‐low toxicity and large Stokes. Herein, a design strategy to achieve near‐infrared (NIR) excitation and emission of organic room‐temperature phosphorescence through two ...

Fast algorithm for calculating two-photon absorption spectra

open access: yes, 1998
We report a numerical calculation of the two-photon absorption coefficient of electrons in a binding potential using the real-time real-space higher-order difference method.

The importance of relativistic effects on two-photon absorption spectra in metal halide perovskites

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Despite intense research into the optoelectronic properties of metal halide perovskites (MHPs), sub-bandgap absorption in MHPs remains largely unexplored.

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Quantification of nonlinear absorption in ternary As-Sb-Se chalcogenide glasses

open access: yes, 2018
In this article, we studied intensity dependent third order nonlinear optical response in ternary As40Sb7Se53 and As40Sb10Se50 chalcogenide glasses by employing nanosecond Z-scan technique.
